Are you dreaming of conquering Halti? Join us on a fatbike expedition to the high fells of Finland! We'll embark on an adventurous journey from Kilpisjärvi to Halti, traversing breathtaking landscapes through the grand fells, including a visit to the highest point on the Finnish side of the "Maiden of Finland," Halti, standing at an elevation of 1323 meters above sea level!
Our route follows the established hiking trail from Kilpisjärvi to Halti and back to Kilpisjärvi. During the expedition, we'll spend our nights in reserved huts, ensuring comfortable shelter and a chance to recharge. In case of heavy snowfall or storms, we'll switch to snowshoes and continue our journey on foot. If needed, we can also rely on snowmobile taxi services if progress becomes too slow or challenging at any point.

Please bring with you:
Pack hiking gear that will sustain you for 5 days and 4 nights (or 4 days and 3 nights) in the wilderness. All gear (up to a maximum of 15 kg) should fit into one 60-liter dry bag. The gear will be transported by a dog sled.
The expedition organizer will take care of meals, but you can also bring your own snacks. However, they must fit within your own equipment. We will send participants a more detailed equipment list after registration.
Our goal is to bring only the essentials on the hike. We will go through each participant's equipment, and if necessary, we will trim down the gear before heading into the wilderness.
Please bring your own fat-tired bicycle. You can also bring an electric bicycle with the possibility to charge it throughout the entire journey. YOu can also rent one through us for a price of €300/5 days or €240/4 days.
Please note that this is a moderately challenging hike. We will be cycling in open fell terrain where weather conditions can change rapidly. The route we'll be taking is a combination of hiking and snowmobile trails, which have a well-packed base. After a snowfall, the route may be tough to pedal, but we are prepared for such situations.
We will be staying in reserved huts where you'll have good opportunities to rest and maintain your equipment. In case of strong winds or storms, we can seek shelter in the huts. Dress according to the weather, and bring warm and dry spare clothing.
It's also possible to do the hike with an electric bicycle, and there will be an opportunity to charge the battery throughout the entire journey. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask – we are here to help!
